New York City Classroom Makeover
Judith Dahill is constantly surrounded by books as the librarian for the Fashion Industries High School and in the nicest way possible, her students thought both she and the library could use a little sprucing up! Over 50 of Judith's students at the high school nominated her for the wardrobe and classroom makeover and volunteers from JAG and Lowe's did not disappoint. They turned Judith's library into a warm and inviting space to read or study by painting the walls a deep, rich brick red - one of Judith's favorite colors! The fashion room off the library was painted a rich shade of plum and given a chic new reading area. Judith's office was de-cluttered, painted a neutral shade of tan and spruced up with new black furniture, tons of storage, a new refrigerator and handmade skirts for the sink and microwave area. In addition to Judith's classroom/office, volunteers transformed the dreary teacher's lounge to a new hip hang-out and turned the 5th floor roof deck into an oasis for the teachers and students. The day was complete when Judith came back to the school after receiving a Jones New York wardrobe makeover at Macy's to see her transformed school!
